The winners of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) North West Annual Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony in Liverpool at the end of June.
Among the winners celebrating on the night were Eddie Stobart’s own Jimmy Sykes, who was named ‘Young Freight Manager of the Year’. Supported by leading figures from across the UK’s transport and logistics sector, the CILT North West Awards were established to celebrate education, excellence, expertise and experience in the industry.
Simon Reynish, Chairman, CILT North West region, said: “This year’s awards received a record number of entries and championed many of the great developments in the industry. Our congratulations to all the winners and finalists, from what is clearly a very rich pool of talent here in the North West. I was especially delighted to see the young people coming through the ranks of the sector recognised for their outstanding efforts and performance through the year. The future looks bright.”
Jimmy Sykes, General Manager at Eddie Stobart, commented: “I am delighted to have won Young Fleet Manager of the Year. Eddie Stobart has a history of picking up awards at the CILT presentations, in particular in the ‘young’ categories, which to me is testament to the company’s commitment to people development, training and progress through the business. I have benefitted from Eddie Stobart’s strong policies on personal development and am very proud to have been recognised in this way by CILT.”
