Warrington, 14 December 2017. Eddie Stobart has revealed it is supporting Needlefresh, the largest Christmas tree company in the UK, deliver around 650,000 Christmas trees this festive season – over 95 percent of all Christmas trees grown in the UK.
With consumer Christmas spending continuing to rise, 2017 is set to be another record-breaking peak period for Eddie Stobart. As part of this peak season, Eddie Stobart is proud to be helping family-run business, Needlefresh, fulfil demand for over half a million trees across the UK. Delivering this number of trees is a task that requires dedicated staff at every part of the process: from picking and packing the trees to delivering them to major retailers across the country.
When it comes to delivery times, Needlefresh adheres to a strict fulfilment target of no-more-than three days. To meet this challenge head on, Eddie Stobart is providing Needlefresh with 800 vehicles this year – driving around 284,000 miles in the process.
“Our aim is to ensure that our Christmas trees are delivered to our customers just as fresh as when they were first cut,” said Christopher Hood, MD at Needlefresh. “We use a bespoke software programme that’s linked with Eddie Stobart’s office in Carlisle, as well as the offices of all of our tree growers, to make sure the harvest, packing, transportation and delivery is absolutely seamless.”
David Pickering, COO of Eddie Stobart said “Christmas is a really exciting period for us and for retailers, but it can also be a very challenging time. Ensuring that our customers can meet the increasing demand they face during this busiest of times is a responsibility we take very seriously, and we’re delighted to be continuing to support a family-run business like Needlefresh to help deliver Christmas!”
