Speedy Freight, an Eddie Stobart company, has announced it is supporting Water Direct, the leading alternative and emergency water supplier, in its mission to provide quality-assured drinking water in emergency situations.
With bottled water stockpiled across the UK, Water Direct’s emergency supply is delivered by the pallet to those who have lost access to water. The company relies on being able to distribute its water supply around-the-clock and as quickly as possible, and over the last year alone, Water Direct has delivered around 50 million litres of water to customers.
Speedy Freight’s nationwide delivery fleet will help Water Direct to both maintain and expand upon these services. Through the partnership, Water Direct is now able to offer a nationwide door-to-door bottled water delivery service for clients of all sizes who find themselves without water.
Rob Allan, Senior Product Manager for Bottled Water & Water Wholesale at Water Direct said: “We pride ourselves on being able to respond rapidly and effectively to any emergency situation. Speedy Freight’s 24/7 nationwide coverage and same day delivery service helps us support reactive delivery needs, so we can be available for our customers in an emergency at short notice, 365 days a year.”
Mike Smith, MD at Speedy Freight said: “Everyone hopes to never find themselves in a situation where they are without water. We hope our work with Water Direct will ensure that should this happen, we are able to minimise the time people are without water.”
