Two experienced Stobart Drivers have been shortlisted in the Microlise Group Annual Driver of the Year Awards. The annual awards highlight the most talented logistics drivers working in the UK transport industry today.
Developed in cooperation with The University of Nottingham, this year’s awards fall into two groups; Data-led Awards, based on Microlise Group’s own telematics data and Awards by Nomination, voted for by industry peers and judged by an expert panel of Road Transport professionals.
Stobart Driver, Simon Poll from Leicestershire, has been selected as one of the final three shortlisted for Driver Hero of the Year, following a fatal road traffic collision, where Simon displayed not only quick thinking but exceptional bravery, which lead to him receiving a commendation from Leicestershire Police.
Ian from Cumbria, another Stobart Driver has been selected as one of the final three shortlisted for Short Distance Award, based on his driving performance recorded through Microlise. The shortlisting follows a review of over 220,000 drivers’ performance data from across the UK.
Neil Rowbotham, Managing Director of Transport for Stobart said, “I am truly delighted for both Ian and Simon to be shortlisted for these awards and it is testament to them both for the approach they have and the commitment they give, not just to Stobart but to their profession, that they are being recognised.”
The winners will be announced at the Microlise VIP Awards ceremony taking place on 16th May at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
